Field Evidence

What happened when a cement plant compared ZL hammers against their European supplier?

A Romanian cement plant ran 4 campaigns comparing ZL bi-metallic hammers head-to-head against Magotteaux. ZL delivered 24% lower purchase cost and lower cost per ton.

FLSmidth EV Hammer Mill, 800 t/h limestone. 4 consecutive campaigns: 2 Magotteaux, 2 ZL. Same mill, same feed, same operator.

Questions

What are the most common questions about this part?

What is bi-metallic hammer technology? +

A Cr26 carbide-rich tip is metallurgically bonded to a Mn18Cr2 work-hardening body. The tip resists wear while the body absorbs impact. Extended service life compared to Cr26 mono-block.

Why are hammers individually weighed? +

Rotor balance. A 1% mass difference between hammers causes vibration, premature bearing failure, and cracks. Every hammer is weighed and laser-marked.

Can you match Hammer Crusher Hammers / Hammer Mill Beaters without an OEM part number? +

Yes. Send the machine make and model, worn-part photos, key dimensions or a drawing. We check the fitment route before quoting and confirm what information is still missing.

Which material grade should I choose for Hammer Crusher Hammers / Hammer Mill Beaters? +

Material selection depends on feed material, impact level, abrasion, operating temperature and the position of the part. We compare your application against the current wear pattern before recommending a grade.

What information do you need for a useful quote? +

The fastest quote comes with equipment model, OEM reference if available, quantity, target delivery date, feed material, working position and any photos or drawings of the existing part.

Do you supply certificates and inspection records? +

Yes. Material certificates, chemistry, hardness checks, dimensional inspection and traceability records can be supplied with the order when requested.

Before You Inquire

What should you prepare before requesting a quote?

  • 1 Crusher make, model, and OEM part number
  • 2 Feed material type and hardness
  • 3 Required quantity and target delivery date
  • 4 Special requirements (certifications, custom packaging)
