Mn13Cr2: budget-grade for soft limestone (max 450 HB work-hardened). Mn18Cr2: industry default for most aggregates — work-hardens to 500–550 HB under medium to high impact. Yes. Always replace fixed and swing jaws together as a matched set. Mismatched pairs create unequal wear profiles that reduce product shape quality and increase recirculation load. Both jaws wear simultaneously — replacing only the swing jaw while leaving a worn fixed jaw creates uneven nip angle geometry.

Our jaws are cast using sand casting in permanent pattern boxes trained on OEM reference cavities. We maintain an archive of 300+ jaw profiles across Metso, Sandvik, Terex, and other major brands. Each casting is dimensionally verified against the reference cavity profile before heat treatment.

Measure remaining corrugation height at the mid-section (deepest wear point). Replace when 40–50% of original corrugation height remains — running beyond this point reduces nip angle and crushing ratio, forcing recirculation through the circuit.
